Ya que este senador republicano por Arizona tiene un pasado llena de mucha controversia y conflictos, ya que en 1980 su esposa presento un reporte acusandolo de violencia doméstica, 1999 fue despedido de la Division Estatal de Vehículos de Arizona despues de una minuciosa investigacion contra de el y uno de sus hijos ya que segun reportes Pearce manipuló documentos oficiales y su hijo fue acusado de vender licencias de conducir a personas sin documentos legales.
En el 2006 Pearce fue acusado de enviar correos electrónicos con procedencia de un grupo de Supremacia Blanca en donde condenaba las relaciones interraciales.
En el 2008 desafió la Constitucion Nacional con la intencion de negar la ciudadania a hijos de indocumentaods nacidos en Estados Unidos, el cual no logro pasar dicha y absurdo proyecto de ley anti-inmigrante.
Pearce ha presantado 11 proyectos anti-inmigrantes, pero segun el asegura estar en contra de las personas que entran a los Estados Unidos ilegalmente, pero que no tiene ningun problemas con aquellos que entran al pais de manera legal, pagan impuestos cada año, se educan, aprenden ingles, aprenden la cultura estadounidense, y las leyes del pais.
